Research and Statistics

This information is provided by the Arizona Office of Tourism’s Research and Strategic Planning Division. This is to provide our constituents with the most comprehensive, up-to-date statistics regarding the Arizona tourism industry. All research is organized into five main sections:

Annual Research

This section currently includes the most up-to-date annual data on Arizona Domestic and International Visitors, Economic Impact of the Travel Industry in Arizona and the Year-End Summary.   

Monthly & Quarterly Research

This section provides the latest data available on the performance of the Arizona tourism industry, including Lodging Indicators, National and State Park Visitation, Airport Passenger Traffic, Gross Sales & Tourism Taxes, and the Arizona Welcome Center.  

Arizona Research Reports and Presentations

This section contains a variety of Arizona-specific research reports including presentations, community studies, events and attractions, and cultural heritage.  

Research Resources

This section includes an extensive list of resources in both tourism and general industries to assist you in your research. 

Interactive Tools

This section includes helpful interactive tools that will allow you to pull Arizona-specific data on air traffic and economic impact.
